This makes sense. The Colts are switching to a 3-4 defense and don’t have a lot of players who have played in the scheme. They could have used another 3-4 defensive end and Redding has experience in Chuck Pagano’s scheme from Baltimore. They also got the 16^th ranked 4-3 defensive end by ProFootballFocus for a reasonable rate, 3 years, 10.5 million with an undisclosed amount of guaranteed money.
