Connor didn’t have a sure starting job in Carolina, but not for lack of talent. He’s been very good for them with all of the injuries they’ve had at linebackers over the past few years. He’s deserving of a starting job someone. The Cowboys already have 2011 2^nd round pick Bruce Carter to go with Sean Lee, but they don’t have a lot of depth at the position and Connor is a more proven player than Carter, who will likely stay in his reserve/special teams role. It wasn’t their biggest need, but for 6.5 million over 2 years, it almost had to be done.
