Jabari Greer has been a pretty middle of the run cornerback over the past 2 seasons, but he was actually one of the best cornerbacks in the league in 2009, the last time the Saints had a respectable pass rush in front of him. In 2009, he ranked 9^th on ProFootballFocus. He’s not much of a ballhawk, but he’s a solid cover cornerback and the best the Saints have. He only had one year left on his deal and a 23 million dollar extension over 3 years, taking him through his age 33 season in 2015, is pretty reasonable. I’m also betting this extension lowered his cap number in 2012, important for a Saints team backed up against the cap.
