McClain is a solid player who plays inside when the Ravens run a 3-4 and outside when the Ravens run a 4-3. On ProFootballFocus, he ranked 22^nd on ProFootballFocus’ outside linebacker rankings. This seems like a pretty reasonable deal for a player who is the definition of average. He got 10.5 million over 3 years.
