DeAngelo Williams Resign

This deal is so stupid. DeAngelo Williams is 28 and has never had more than 273 carries in a season and only twice gone above 144 carries in his 5 year career. This is a 5 year deal that takes him until he’s 33. If he can’t stay healthy now, how is he going to stay healthy at age 33? Given that fact, him getting 43 million over 5 years with 21 million of that guaranteed is ridiculous. Besides, running backs are fairly interchangeable and the Panthers already have two solid backs in Jonathan Stewart and Mike Goodson. This is such a stupid move. In the past 2 days, the Panthers have committed 127 million (57 million guaranteed) to a defensive end with only one year of starting experience, a 28 year old running back who can’t stay healthy, and a kicker. And people wonder why they went 2-14 last year.

I realize the Panthers went 2-14 last year and have to overspend to sign guys, but overspending because it’s the only way to sign guys is not how you build a playoff team. That’s how you build the Oakland Raiders or the Washington Redskins. The good teams, the Patriots, the Colts, the Saints, the Packers, never spend big money unless the player is worth it. In the Panthers case with Williams, he wasn’t worth it.

·         Physical in coverage

·         Above average against the run

·         Struggles with man press

NFL Comparison: Antonio Cromartie

Like Antonio Cromartie, Dre Kirkpatrick has elite athleticism, speed, and size at the cornerback position. Cromartie is 6-3 and he’s one of the few cornerbacks in the NFL any taller than 6-1 or 6-2. Kirkpatrick was listed at 6-3 at Alabama and measured in at slightly over 6-2 at The Combine. He also showed good 4.4 speed.

At his top speed, Kirkpatrick is one of the fastest cornerbacks and he has the ability to run with any wide receiver. Cromartie is the same way, but like Cromartie, Kirkpatrick takes a bit to get up to full speed. He doesn’t have elite explosion and can get blown off the line of scrimmage by faster, quicker receivers. He also doesn’t have elite change of direction or hip fluidity and struggles with quicker receivers for this reason too. Another comparison is Dominique Rodgers Cromartie. Both of the Cromarties have games similar to Kirkpatrick’s. In fact, Kirkpatrick might be a long lost Cromartie (you never know with that family).

Like the Cromarties, Kirkpatrick is at his best lined up in deep zone or man off the line of scrimmage. He’s not going to come up and bump and run very well because he’ll just be blown past, but if you give him some room to work with, very few receivers can run past him and he’s got excellent closing speed to come in and bust up short completions either with a tackle for a short gain or a drop after a big hit. He did very well against Reuben Randle in their two matchups this season and that’s the type of player he can absolutely dominate. Randle’s height is not an advantage against the 6-2 Kirkpatrick and he doesn’t have the elite speed to burn him.

There’s also the off the field problems with Kirkpatrick. He was arrested for marijuana possession earlier this year and while that’s not a huge concern, teams didn’t like how he handled it in interviews and didn’t feel they could trust him. That could land him in the 20s. Tennessee, Cincinnati, Detroit, and Denver are all options for him in the 20-25 pick range. I have a late first round grade on him all things considered. He has elite athleticism, but such a specific skill set and off the field problems that he falls into the late first round. I also have a late first round grade on him for this reason.

Free Agency Mock 2012

What if free agency worked like the draft?

Rules:

Only unrestricted free agents

Only players not under contract- players who have been franchised or recently extended don’t count

1. Indianapolis Colts- RLB Mario Williams (Houston)

Peyton Manning is my top rated free agent, but the Colts just cut him so it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense for them to take him back. Mario Williams is my #2 free agent and he makes a lot of sense here. He’s one of the best pass rushers to hit the open market this decade and the Colts would be stealing him from a divisional rival. Robert Mathis is getting older and Dwight Freeney could be traded before the draft so Mario Williams fits a need as well and has experienced in whatever defensive scheme the Colts decide to run next season.

2. St. Louis Rams- G Carl Nicks (New Orleans)

Peyton Manning doesn’t make a whole lot of sense here either so they go to my #3 rated of the remaining free agents, Carl Nicks. Jacob Bell is as good as gone at left guard and Nicks would be a huge upgrade at the position for them. He’s arguably the best guard in the league and the Rams really need help on the offensive line.

3. Minnesota Vikings- WR Vincent Jackson (San Diego)

I thought about Peyton Manning here, but the Vikings haven’t really shown that much interest in him and probably for the same reason they haven’t shown a whole lot of interest in trading up to get Robert Griffin or even drafting him if he falls to them at #3. Christian Ponder is their guy. Given that, I’m sure they’d love to get their hands on Vincent Jackson, the top remaining wide receiver on the open market.

4. Cleveland Browns- QB Peyton Manning (Indianapolis)

Cleveland has interest in Peyton Manning, but it’s highly unlikely he goes there. Manning won’t want to go to such a desolate place when he has a choice between the money in Washington and the opportunity to throw to Brandon Marshall or Larry Fitzgerald in Miami and Arizona respectively. However, he doesn’t have a choice here and the Browns would love if he was in their uniform for next season.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- MLB Stephen Tulloch (Detroit)

The Buccaneers need major help in their back 7 and Stephen Tulloch is the top rated back 7 player in this draft class. He would provide an instant upgrade at middle linebacker and allow Mason Foster to move outside to his natural position.

6. Washington Redskins- WR Marques Colston (New Orleans)

The Redskins have money to play with and are known to be interested in signing one of the market’s top receivers. They’ve been linked to Vincent Jackson, but I’m sure they wouldn’t mind settling for Marques Colston.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars- CB Cortland Finnegan (Tennessee)

They desperately need offensive help, but by my board, most of the best available are defensive players except Chris Myers, who doesn’t really fill a need at center. Cortland Finnegan is the best available and also fills a need. Rashean Mathis is a free agent and a declining player coming off a major injury. Cortland Finnegan would give them an upgrade opposite Derek Cox.

8. Miami Dolphins- MLB Curtis Lofton (Atlanta)

Best player available who makes any sense for them as Chris Myers again wouldn’t fill a need at center. The Dolphins have two of their linebackers for their 4-3 defense, Karlos Dansby and Kevin Burnett, and are expected to use Koa Misi as the 3rd. However, I think Curtis Lofton would be a huge upgrade over Misi. Lofton can play in the middle with Burnett and Dansby on the outside.

9. Carolina Panthers- DT Sione Pouha (NY Jets)

The Panthers have huge needs at defensive tackle and cornerback. Brandon Carr would fill that need at cornerback, but Sione Pouha would also fill their need at defensive tackle and I have him higher on my free agency board. They drafted Sione Fua and Terrell McClain in the 3rd round last year, but neither of them did anything. Pouha would be an instant upgrade.

10. Buffalo Bills- CB Brandon Carr (Kansas City)

Buddy Nix mentioned adding another cornerback as a draft need of theirs. It’s not their biggest need, but at the same time, Brandon Carr would be their best cornerback and he is the best available player who makes any sense.

11. Kansas City Chiefs- C Chris Myers (Houston)

Casey Wiegmann turns 39 in July so he won’t be around too much longer. The Chiefs drafted Rodney Hudson in the 2nd round last year to be his successor, but this way they can keep him at guard long term. Chris Myers is best available and fills a need.

12. Seattle Seahawks- MLB London Fletcher (Washington)

The Seahawks could easily lose David Hawthorne this offseason. London Fletcher is rated higher on my free agency board than Hawthorne so the Redskins take him here instead.

13. Arizona Cardinals- QB Alex Smith (San Francisco)

The Cardinals gave up the farm for Kevin Kolb last offseason, but they still need a long term solution at quarterback. They want Peyton Manning, but I’m sure they wouldn’t mind stealing Alex Smith from a division rival.

14. Dallas Cowboys- G Ben Grubbs (Baltimore)

The Cowboys have two good tackles in Doug Free and Tyron Smith, but the interior of their offensive line is a mess. They’re going to be one of the leading suitors for Carl Nicks. Here they get Ben Grubbs, the #2 guard on the market.

15. Philadelphia Eagles- MLB David Hawthorne (Seattle)

The Eagles have a desperate need for a middle linebacker and are expected to sign either Stephen Tulloch or Curtis Lofton. Here they have to “settle” for David Hawthorne, but I guess that’s not so bad.

16. New York Jets- WR Brandon Lloyd (St. Louis)

The Jets aren’t expected to resign Plaxico Burress so they sign Brandon Lloyd to play opposite Santonio Holmes. So they take Brandon Lloyd here and keep him away from division rival New England, who is expected to be his leading suitor.

17. Cincinnati Bengals- CB Carlos Rogers (San Francisco)

Leon Hall is no sure thing in 2012 after tearing his Achilles late in the 2011 season. Meanwhile, Nate Clements is a marginal player on the decline. Carlos Rogers gives them another cornerback in the mix and is the best player available who makes sense.

18. San Diego Chargers- RLB Mark Anderson (New England)

I have John Abraham and Jeremy Mincey rated higher on my board as pass rushers, but Mark Anderson is close behind them and I trust him more in a 3-4 scheme like the Chargers run because of his athleticism and quickness. The Chargers really need to find a pass rusher this offseason. They’ll go after Mario Williams and if they can’t get him, expect them to use an early pick in the 2012 NFL Draft on a rush linebacker.

19. Chicago Bears- DE John Abraham (Atlanta)

Abraham has been passed up by a few teams because of lack of need and questions about how he’d fit in a 3-4 scheme, but the Bears run a 4-3 and could use a pass rusher like Abraham. Isreal Idonije is a marginal free agent and opposing quarterbacks would shit their pants knowing that the Bears would have both Julius Peppers and John Abraham. Even at 34 in May, Abraham is still a talented pass rusher who had 9.5 sacks last season. He’s also the active leader in sacks and 16th all-time, believe it or not.

20. Tennessee Titans- DE Jeremy Mincey (Jacksonville)

Jeremy Mincey is another player who has been passed on for lack of need and scheme fit, but the Titans were one of the worst pass rushing teams in the league last year and seeing as they run a 4-3, they’d love to steal Mincey away from division rival Jacksonville. Mincey had 8 sacks in a breakout season for the Jaguars in 2011.

21. Cincinnati Bengals- RB Michael Bush (Oakland)

The Bengals are likely to add Michael Bush in free agency. They can offer him the most money and the biggest share of the carries. They get him here too as he’s the best available player who makes sense.

22. Cleveland Browns- WR Pierre Garcon (Indianapolis)

The Browns already got Peyton Manning. Why not take one of his wide receivers as well? Reggie Wayne is a possibility here as well because of the fit with Peyton Manning, but Garcon is younger and higher on my board. In fact, he’s the best available player who makes any sense for the Browns, who are starved for offensive playmakers.

23. Detroit Lions- C Scott Wells (Green Bay)

Scott Wells is the best available and falls to Detroit because of his position. However, Dominic Raiola is on the decline in Detroit and I’m sure the Lions would love to steal one of the best centers in the league from division rival Detroit.

24. Pittsburgh Steelers- NT Paul Soliai (Miami)

The Steelers age is catching up with them on defense. They had to cut James Farrior, while Casey Hampton won’t be around any longer than a season. Hampton will be a 35 year old free agent next offseason and while middle linebacker is a more pressing need after Farrior was cut, nose tackle is a need as well and Soliai is higher on my board than any middle linebacker left. Soliai is still young and would be a nose tackle of the future for Pittsburgh. He won’t be back in Miami, but not for lack of talent. He just isn’t a good fit for their new 4-3 defense.

25. Denver Broncos- WR Mario Manningham (NY Giants)

I’m sure Tebow would love someone else to throw to other than Demaryius Thomas. Mario Manningham won’t be back in New York because they won’t pay Manningham #2 receiver money to be their #3 receiver, but the Broncos could certainly use him.

26. Houston Texans- C Nick Hardwick (San Diego)

The Texans lose Chris Myers in this one, but they sign Nick Hardwick to be his replacement, which makes the loss of Myers more bearable. Hardwick is the best available who makes any sense.

27. New England Patriots- 3-4 DE Red Bryant (Seattle)

I like the fit of Bryant in New England. He can play both defensive tackle and defensive end in a 4-3 and he can also play 3-4 defensive end. The Patriots could use a hybrid defensive scheme in 2012 and Bryant would be a great fit for it at a position of need.

28. Green Bay Packers- RLB Jarret Johnson (Baltimore)

Johnson falls because of questions about his position. He played both 4-3 and 3-4 outside linebacker for Baltimore last season, but he doesn’t have a true position. He’s a great run stopper, but not much of a pass rusher and the teams above Green Bay don’t need 3-4 or 4-3 outside linebackers. However, Green Bay won’t pass on him. He’s not a great pass rusher, but they have a huge need opposite Clay Matthews.

29. Baltimore Ravens- OT Jared Gaither (San Diego)

Gaither got his start in Baltimore as a left tackle, but was cut because of injury problems. He showed himself to be healthy in the tail end of last season as a left tackle in San Diego, but in a weak offensive tackle class, that makes him the best offensive tackle on the market. The Ravens have been searching for a new left tackle since he left and I’m sure they would welcome him back.

30. San Francisco 49ers- QB Matt Flynn (Green Bay)

The 49ers lose Alex Smith here so they have no choice but to reach for Matt Flynn. In reality, however, I say there’s a 99.9% percent chance Smith is back in San Francisco and he gets a deal in the range of Matt Cassel, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Kevin Kolb.

31. New England Patriots- WR Reggie Wayne (Indianapolis)

The Patriots are interested in Brandon Lloyd to be an upgrade as their #2 receiver over Deion Branch, a free agent. However, they miss out on him in this scenario. Why not add Reggie Wayne? The Patriots like signing wide receivers on the cheap after age 30, with mixed results. Wayne is probably a safer choice than Torry Holt, Joey Galloway, and Chad Ochocinco.

32. New York Giants- OT Demetrius Bell (Buffalo)

They may have won the Super Bowl, but don’t thank their offensive line. David Diehl struggled at both left guard and left tackle last season, after struggling at left tackle in 2010. He’s expected to play right tackle next year as the Giants part ways with Kareem McKenzie, who also struggled. I don’t see that ending well. Bell is really good when healthy and the Giants take a chance on him here in a weak offensive tackle class as a potential long term bookend tackle with William Beatty.

Glen Coffee Arrested

By Michael J Morris

Yes… This is the same 23 year old, Glen Coffee, who retired early on in the season to follow a “higher calling”.

The recently retired running-back was arrested Thursday evening after carrying a concealed firearm in his hometown of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.

After Coffee was unable to show proof of insurance or registration, police found the cocked pistol in the center console of his 2008 Cadillac after he was pulled over for speeding.

Coffee was charged with a third-degree felony which may lead to a five year stint in a Florida jail.

The 49ers will be taking on the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday night without their recently imprisoned quarterback, Michael Vick.

Draft

Jed York

By Michael J Morris

If you haven’t heard, Jed York, the owner and president of the San Francisco 49ers still believes that his team is going to take the NFC West.

“We’re going to win the division,” York vowed Monday morning in a text to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

York also indicated that Mike Singletary would remain head coach of the 49ers…at least for another week.

The 0-5 start by Singletary is the worst start for a San Francisco football team since Bill Walsh’s first season as the 49ers head coach in 1979.  That ’79 49ers team went 7 straight games without a win.

Singletary is safe for now but it isn’t because he deserves to keep his job.  He hasn’t been fired yet because there is nobody on the staff with the capability to turn the team around and there is nobody on the market that would be willing to take such a job.

The remainder of the schedule is soft but even if the team won 8 of the next 11 games they would only be .500.

Either York knows something we don’t or York had such a rough Sunday night that it spilled into Monday morning.  Either York is confident, and knows something that nobody else in San Francisco is aware of, or he is simply crazy.  And I, like most I would assume, take the latter.

While Singletary’s job may be in place right now, you can only go so long without winning games before you starting making moves and this week the 49ers will need to do something sooner rather than later.

As much as I have tried to defend the guy, Alex Smith’s time in San Francisco is running out.  Singletary stated that Smith would be the starting quarterback come Sunday but if it gets ugly early on in the game expect Carr to take his spot.

On Sunday night against the Eagles, Singletary and Smith got into on the sideline; to the point where other players and staff got between the two of them.  An altercation like this is something you would expect from a quarterback and disgruntled receiver, not a quarterback and a head coach.  After the public displays of affection, Smith undermines Singletary by sending himself in after back-up David Carr was told by the coaches to get on the field.  Down by ten, Smith would then drive down the field and bring the 49ers within 3 points, before a last minute interception that would end up being the fifth and most recent loss for the 49ers.

Smith, now in his 6th season, is yet to put a complete game together.  At times he looks like Steve Young or Joe Montana, showing flashes of brilliance when the team needs it, but unfortunately his flashes of brilliance have come at a minimum.  Smith has failed to put 60 minutes of productive football together.

If Smith would like to keep his job, the quarterback that came out for that short while post-altercation will need to play that hungry and inspired football that drove him down the field on Sunday night against the Eagles.  That same quarterback that drove his team eighty yards for a score in 52 seconds against the Saints a couple weeks ago on Monday night.  Not the quarterback that holds onto the ball for far too long while in the pocket and throws forced balls on a continual basis.

For an owner who still has his sights on winning the division, Singletary may be more willing to switch things up.

If Smith can come out on Sunday and put together a flash of productive football he may make it into week seven.  But if Smith is unable to do so, expect Carr to take his spot early and Singletary not to look back.

Jets Poem

By Kevin Harrison

We lost last year to the Colts in the Championship Game,

And in the second half collapse, the defense was to blame,

We kept the staff in tact; there was no canning,

But we needed a person on defense to help stop Manning,

After giving the middle finger in route to a Super Bowl Party,

Rex and Co. went out and signed Cromartie,

The Steelers wanted Santonio Holmes out the door,

Sanchez had surgery on his knee,

And ready for training camp he promised to be,

So for a 5th round pick that’s who we traded for,

Our clutch kicker we released, so I had to say “Really?”

And out the door went our beloved jay Feely,

We signed Jason Taylor who we all did hate,

But now he was in green and a Jets teammate,

Releasing Thomas Jones and Fanaca was odd in an uncapped year,

And this was a move that all Jets fans would fear,

The Chargers dumped L.T. so he was on the move,

And came to the Jets with something to prove,

We drafted Wilson, Ducasse, Conner, and McKnight,

And hoped these new toys would fit in just right,

Rex started in Cortland saying we are ground and pound,

And on the ESPN Bus, he wrote “Super Bowl Bound.”

We had training camp taped for “Hard Knocks” on HBO,

And Tony Dungy didn’t like Rex’s cursing, as we all know,

There was one more thing, and without a doubt,

That there had to be a happy ending to the Revis holdout,

Love the extensions signed by Mangold and D’Brick,

But getting rid of Rhodes and Leon Washington made me feel a bit sick,

Rex said, “Hey, it’s all cool.”

And went out and signed Brodney Pool,

The season drew close, the new stadium did not sell out,

And the PSL’s all fans could live without,

The pre-season was boring but also just fine,

Except for Joe McKnight and puking on the sideline,

The holdout continued, I wished things would be fine,

After a failed attempt to sign Revis, at the Liberty Diner,

And just before the regular season, the holdout did end,

But I still am not sure, which side did bend,

But not in game shape and before you could blink,

A lingering hamstring problem for Revis really did stink,

Santonio Holmes was suspended for the first four,

So we would have to wait a month to see this offense soar,

The New Meadowland Stadium opening on Monday Night,

The battle vs. the Ravens was our first fight,

After the first few plays, I wish I could give you a reason,

But now Kerry Jenkins was done again for the entire season,

This was not what I was expecting on how the season begun,

We lost 10-9, a sad loss by one,

Harassing reporter Ines Sainz in the locker room,

This young season was starting to spell doom,

And now faced the Patriots for a must-win game,

If we got off to a bad start, the Jets could have caved,

But we thrashed the Pats and the season was saved,

Braylon Edwards then had a DWI,

What the hell are you doing you stupid guy,

The Jets then flew down to play the fish,

And Jason Taylor got his big wish,

Jason nailed their quarterback to record a sack,

And the Dolphins fell short of their comeback,

It was almost as if the Jets were doing practice drills,

As we then put the spanking, on the Bills,

With no Jenn Sterger anywhere in sight,

Brett Favre came to the Meadowlands and put up a good fight,

Favre and the Vikings staged a fourth quarter rally,

But Dwight Lowery’s pick for a TD added to our tally,

Men are from Mars, Women from Venus,

Hope Sanchez learned from Favre, not to text his penis,

Then a comeback at Denver staged by you know who,

Throw a ball to Holmes for pass interference at the two,

LT then had a touchdown, a two yard run,

This is a game I’m not sure how we won,

At 5-1, I was hoping we wouldn’t crack,

Until we ran into the Pack,

This loss on Halloween was a complete bore,

With so many dropped balls and could not score,

Then in Detroit, another miracle was in store,

When Sanchez hits Holmes in OT to set up the game winning score,

At the midpoint of the season, the Jets were 6-2,

And there was a lot of work left for this team to do,

The Jets almost blew a game to Cleveland at the end of regulation,

But there would be no Browns standing ovation,

With the game looking like it would be a tie,

Sanchez hits Holmes for the TD on the fly,

The Jets may have found this magical fourth quarter comeback code,

Becoming the first team to ever win back to back OT games on the road,

Against the Texans, the fourth quarter magic continued some more,

After blowing the lead, we won with a really late score,

And since beating the Bengals twice last year,

This victory was a game that we really didn’t fear,

Before the MNF game against the Patriots, we were 9-2,

This game was so big, I didn’t know what to do,

In practice, Jim Leonhard, broke his leg,

It could be the reason why the Jets were about to lay an egg,

The Jets didn’t now what to do as well,

As they were murdered 45-3…what the hell,

You heard me right, I said forty five to three,

One of the worst losses ever in Jets history,

After they got home, they buried the game ball,

A funeral they had, no talking about it at all,

Against the Dolphins, we were hoping for a rebound,

But mistakes led to a loss on our home ground,

We also took another fall,

When Sal Alosi built the “Human Wall,”

We had to go into Pittsburgh to stop the bleeding,

A Brad Smith kickoff return to start the game, and the Jets were leading,

The defense held them on the last drive,

A win against the Steelers, the dream was still alive,

Rex Ryan and wife, in foot fetish video,

All I could say, is “wow, oh no!”,

Then in Chicago, the Jets let this one slip away,

But we did clinch a playoff spot that day,

The finale against the Bills was the best

And still be them bad giving starters some rest,

Rex said it was time to get Manning, started talking smack,

The team talked too and had Rex Ryan’s back,

The good thing about our playoff opponent was that it wouldn’t be windy,

And we were off to the indoors to seek revenge on Indy,

I thought we blew the game with a minute to go,

Until Sanchez came out and put on a show,

With no timeouts, Mark was ready to sail,

This year in Indy we would not fail,

He drove us close for and in came Nick,

Who booted the field goal for the winning kick,

Now off to New England who spanked the Jets bad,

It was personal claimed Rex Ryan,

And there was no way he’d leave Gillette Stadium cryin,

Then Cromartie took it one step further in the Jets/Pats Bowl,

By letting the world know that Brady’s an A-hole,

An inspirational speech by Dennis Byrd,

The Jets took in every single word,

The Jets had the game plan and the Patriots were shocked,

Back to the Championship Game; we just really rocked,

Two wins in the books and one more to go,

A rematch in Pittsburgh was the theme of the show,

Everything was quiet, with minimal trash talk,

This would come down to who could walk the walk,

We were 60 minutes from the Super Bowl,

And before I could get excited, were in a 7-0 hole,

The defense couldn’t tackle, they were flat as could be,

And at the end of the half, it was Twenty Four to three,

The worst half of football, I had ever seen,

That the hell happened to our beloved Gang Green,

The second half they began to play,

The first half they should have played the same way,

We came out of the half and scored on the first drive,

Only down fourteen points, we were now alive,

With Sanchez digging in his nose, a booger he got,

And on Brunell’s jacket, he wiped his snot,

Another long drive, and down to the one,

Three plays later, points we got none,

A safety for two, a touchdown for seven,

Could we stage this comeback and make it to heaven,

Pitt had the ball, we needed a stop,

The Defense had chances, but they really did flop,

Ben took a knee, the dream had died,

Pissed off, frustrated, I nearly cried,

First Manning, then Brady, but failed on Big Ben,

I can’t believe we have to start the journey all over again.

You can’t play just one half to win a game,

So many things; who do you blame,

Despite labor issues and roster spots, the will be back,

For that elusive Super Bowl, please, one more crack,

We lost two AFC Championships in a row but have no fear,

Cause Rex said we are gonna win it all next year.

Jordan Babineaux Titans

The Bears have one of the worst receiving corps in the NFL. No one caught more than 37 balls last year and the receiver who played the most snaps for them was Roy Williams. Brandon Marshall was an absolute steal for 2 3rd rounders and Jay Cutler has to be thrilled. The pair combined for 206 completions from 2007-2008. The Bears still have cap space to go after another receiver or to sign Mario Williams and take a receiver in the first or second round.
