A day after Justin Blackmon was arrested for aggravated DUI for driving with a blood alcohol content of .24, 3 times the legal limit, the fallout is continuing. Adam Schefter says that not only is he going to be subject to league discipline, at least a 1-2 game suspension, this could affect the currently unsigned Blackmon’s contract. The Jaguars have the right to put a clause in his contract which gets them out of it if Blackmon is arrested again and they also have the right to postpone some or all of his signing bonus and give him little to no guaranteed money. Blackmon pleaded not guilty to the charges today. It’s unclear if he’ll face any jail time as this is his 2nd offense, but the Florida Times-Union says it’s “unlikely.”
