No financials for this deal have been released, but I’m guessing the Bears got him very cheap. Gholston is definitely a bust. In fact, with no sacks in 3 seasons after being drafted 6^th overall, he might be one of the biggest busts of the last decade. However, he’s still only 25 and now he’s going back to a 4-3 scheme, the one that he dominated in at Ohio State, and he gets to work with Rod Marinelli, an excellent defensive line coach. They could get something out of him. If not, they didn’t spend much. This is a low risk, high reward signing for them.
